TV Connect is a software feature that allows the D 3020 to handle your TV's audio. It enables the D 3020 to learn mute and volume control commands from any TV remote. Additionally, the D 3020 will automatically switch to the OPTICAL source when it detects a digital TV output signal at the OPTICAL input.*
With TV Connect fully integrated, you can use your TV remote control to manage the following features of the D 3020:
- Adjust volume up/down
- Enable or disable the mute function
- Turn on the D 3020
How to Configure Your D3020 with TV Connect
To set up TV Connect, connect your TV's digital optical output to the OPTICAL input of your D 3020. With this configuration, the D 3020 will automatically power up from standby mode and select the OPTICAL input* when you turn on your TV. You can also wake the D 3020 by pressing the power button on the top panel, the AMP 3 remote control, or your TV's remote control.
*Note: This depends on the D 3020 first entering standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity.
To integrate TV Connect with your D 3020, follow these steps:
1. Enable Auto Standby Mode
The D 3020 can be configured to automatically enter standby mode if there is no user interaction and no active source input for 30 minutes. Follow these steps to enable auto standby mode.
- While in standby mode, press and hold the "OFF" button on the AMP 3 remote control for a few seconds until all indicators on the front screen wake up and blink once.
2. Enable Auto Sense Mode
The Auto Sense feature enables the D 3020 to wake up from standby mode when it detects an active source input.
- While in standby mode, press and hold the SOURCE ˄ button on the AMP 3 remote control until the "" and "S" icons on the top screen wake up and blink once.
3. Perform IR Learning with TV Remote Control
- A. With the D 3020 in operating mode, press and hold the "MUTE" button on the AMP 3 remote control until "OPT" blinks continuously.
- B. Press the "Volume +" button on your TV remote control once.
-
C. After a one-second gap, press the "Volume +" button on your TV remote again.
- "OPT" will blink twice quickly and then "COAX" will start blinking, indicating it is ready to learn "Volume -".
- Repeat the same steps to learn "Volume -", "Mute", and "Power ON" as per the IR learning procedure below.
- D. When the D 3020 successfully learns all four keys** from the TV remote control, it will automatically exit learning mode and return to normal operation.
IR Learning Procedure
STEP** | D 3020 Source Indicator Blinks | TV Remote Control Function Key to Press | Function Learned by D 3020 from TV Remote Control |
1 | OPT | Volume + | Volume increases |
2 | COAX | Volume - | Volume decreases |
3 | AUX | Mute | Mute On/Off |
4 | PHONO | Power ON | Switch to Operating Mode |
**Note: All four steps must be followed exactly to complete the IR learning process.
4. Turn Off the TV's Internal Speakers (If Equipped)
- It is recommended to disable your TV’s internal speakers so that only the D 3020 outputs sound. This setting is usually found in the TV’s Setup Menu. Refer to your TV’s instruction manual for specific instructions.
Delete IR Learned Commands
- Press and hold the "MUTE" button on the AMP 3 remote control until "OPT" blinks continuously.
- Then, press and hold "MUTE" again until "OPT" stops blinking.
All IR-learned commands are now deleted.
