Infrared (IR) Learning
Infrared (IR) Learning allows any non-NAD remote control to learn IR remote control codes. Once learned, the configured non-NAD remote can be used to operate the C 328. The IR codes are based on the supplied AMP 3 remote control.
How to Learn IR Remote Control Codes
-
Activate IR Learning Mode
- Press and hold the front panel BASS EQ and a < SOURCE button simultaneously until "F1" appears on the front panel display. "F1" indicates the unit is in IR learning mode.
-
Select IR Codes to Learn
- A total of twelve IR codes can be learned, labeled as F1, F2, ..., F12, corresponding to their positions on the AMP 3 remote control layout.
- Use the front panel < SOURCE or SOURCE > buttons to cycle through F1, F2, ..., F12.
-
Choose a Code to Learn
- For example, to learn the "F5" (Volume Up) code, toggle the < SOURCE or SOURCE > buttons until "F5" is displayed on the front panel.
-
Initiate Learning for the Selected Code
- Press BASS EQ and "F5" will begin to flash.
-
Learn the Code
- Point the non-NAD remote control at the front panel display and press the corresponding button on the non-NAD remote control. "F5" will stop flashing, briefly stay solid, and then move to the next command (F6). The solid "F5" indicates that the "F5" code has been successfully learned by the non-NAD remote control.
-
Repeat for Additional Codes
- Repeat the above process for other IR codes.
-
Save and Exit IR Learning Mode
- To save the learned IR codes and exit IR learning mode, press and hold the front panel BASS EQ and a < SOURCE button until the display returns to the volume level display.
