You can Configure Active zones in an NAD Multi-zone BluOS music streaming device such as the CI580v2, CI S2 and SA2-120 using the Control Panel (embedded webpage) of the device in any browser. This allows you to deactivate additional zones, meaning they will not be visible to the user in the BluOS app.
For example, the SA2-120 can be used as a single zone streaming amplifier with all available power being used in that zone, or as a 2-zone amplifier with the power spread across both speaker outputs.
An NAD CI580v2 can is a cost-effective way to stream to 3 zones as well as 4. The Active Zones feature allows you to de-activate Zone 4. Zones can be reactivated later if the system expands.
Note:
- The control panel can be accessed on any browser when both the device running the browser and the NAD device are in the same network.
- Ensure that you use the outputs (zones) sequentially starting from output 1 and not at random.
Procedure
- Identify the IP address of the NAD device.
- Enter the IP address of the device in the address box of any browser. The control panel (embedded webpage) is launched.
- Select Active Zones. The Configure Active Zones screen is launched.
- Select the total number of zones (outputs) you would like to activate.
- You will be prompted to reboot the device to update the changes in the device.
- Exit the browser and return to the BluOS Controller app and check that only the required zones are visible.
Notes
- Only the consecutive outputs of the device can be activated/ deactivated.
- Select 1 = Only zone 1 active
- Select 2 = Both Zones 1 and 2 active (this is the default configuration on an NAD CI S1 and SA2-120). On CI580v2 zones 3 and 4 would be deactivated.
- Select 3 (CI580v2 only) = Zones 1-3 are active, zone 4 would be deactivated.
- Select 4 (CI580v2 only) = All 4 zones are active (this is the default configuration for CI580v2).
