You can directly connect a doorbell button to the NAD CI 580. No chime is required. When doing this, you may need to use a 25 Ohm/50 W resistor to replace the chime. An example of AC wiring is illustrated above.
Configuring Chimes in each CI 580 Room
- In the BluOS Controller App, select a room in the Player Drawer.
- Under the left Navigation Drawer, select Player > Doorbell.
- Toggle On – Enable.
- Choose the required Chime and Volume.
- Repeat the same procedure for each room on the CI 580.
This procedure allows each room to have individual chime settings with different volume levels. You can even disable the chime in specific locations when not required.
After configuration, when you press the connected doorbell, the chime is sounded in each room. The playing audio is temporarily interrupted and resumes when the chime is complete.
