The SR9 remote control handset manages the key functions of the C368 / C388, as well as other NAD stereo receivers, integrated amplifiers, and preamplifiers.
It includes additional controls for remotely operating NAD CD players, AM/FM tuners, and dedicated AM/FM/DAB tuners.
The SR9 remote works up to a distance of 23ft (7m). For maximum operating life, alkaline batteries are recommended. Insert two AA batteries into the compartment at the rear of the remote control handset. When replacing the batteries, ensure they are oriented correctly as indicated in the battery compartment.
NOTE: The remote control handset supplied with the C368 / C388 is a universal NAD type, designed to operate various NAD models. Some buttons are only applicable to specific NAD models.
To initiate the following C368 / C388 remote control commands, select AMP from the DEVICE SELECTOR buttons:
1 |
POWER ON/OFF |
The SR9 remote has separate ON and OFF buttons. Press the ON button to switch the unit from Standby to operating mode. Press the OFF button to switch the unit to Standby mode. |
2 |
DEVICE SELECTOR |
A Device Selector button determines which component the SR9 will control; it does not perform any function on the C368 / C388. Press the desired Device Selector button to access a “page” of commands relevant to the selected device. Once a Device is selected, you can press the corresponding SR9 control buttons for that device. |
3 |
INPUT SELECTORS*a |
Refer to the labels printed on the remote control faceplate and their respective assigned buttons to use these functions. Set the DEVICE SELECTOR to “AMP” to access these buttons. |
4 |
NUMERIC KEYS |
The numeric keys allow direct input of tracks for CD players and direct channel/preset access for tuners and receivers. |
5 |
SLEEP |
This button switches off specific NAD Receiver or Tuner models after a preset number of minutes. *This control does not apply to the C368 / C388. |
6 |
MUTE |
Press the MUTE button to temporarily switch off the sound to the speakers and headphones. MUTE mode is indicated by the Standby LED flashing for NAD Integrated Amplifiers or “Mute” shown in the VFD(display) of NAD Receivers. For the C368 / C388, “Mute” is shown on the display. Press MUTE again to restore sound. Adjusting the volume via the SR9 or the front panel volume knob will automatically release the mute function. |
7 |
SOURCE ⏪/⏩ |
Toggle through the source input selections. If optional MDC modules are installed, the source selections will include those incorporated in the modules. |
8 |
DIM |
Reduce, turn off, or restore display brightness. Depending on the NAD model, the front panel display brightness will vary when you toggle this button. For the C368 / C388, toggle to adjust the display brightness to brighter, normal, or dimmer. |
9 |
VOL [▲/▼] |
Press the [▲/▼] button to increase or decrease the volume level. Release the button when the desired level is reached. For NAD Receivers, the VFD (display) will show “Volume Up” or “Volume Down” while pressing the SR9’s VOL [▲/▼]. For the C368 / C388, pressing VOL [▲/▼] will correspondingly increase or decrease the dB level shown on display. |

TONE DFT |
Press this button to enable or disable the tone controls. |
*a IMPORTANT:
- There are up to 9 sources with discrete IR codes, mapped to the SR 9 input selector buttons 1 – 9. The C368 / C388 does not have a USB input, so the BT source selector, originally assigned to input selector “9/BT,” will move to replace input selector “USB/8.” Consequently, input selector “8” will now correspond to the Bluetooth source, while input selector “9” will be unassigned (refer to the C368 / C388 column below).
- If you install the optional MDC BluOS or MDC HDM 2 module, the unassigned input selector “9” button will be allocated to the “BluOS” or “HDMI 1” source (refer to the MDC BluOS OR MDC HDM 2 installed column below).
- If you install both the optional MDC HDM 2 and MDC BluOS modules, you will need to disable two or more sources to accommodate the sources from both modules.
- In the MDC BluOS AND MDC HDM 2 installed column below, OPT 2, COAX 2, and PHONO were disabled to make way for HDMI 1, HDMI 2, and HDMI 3. You can choose which sources to disable so that the desired sources from the installed MDC modules can be allocated and selectable from the SR 9 remote control.
