Note: The Learn LED is located between the ON and OFF buttons.
Learning Commands with the HTR 10
- Positioning: Begin by positioning the HTR 10 "nose-to-nose" with the source remote so the infrared windows of both devices are about 2 inches apart.
- Enter Learning Mode: On the HTR 10, press and hold both a DEVICE SELECTOR key and the [EQ] key simultaneously for 3 seconds until the Learn LED turns steady Green.
- Select Function Key: Press the function key on the HTR 10 that you want to teach a command; the Learn LED will turn Amber.
- Teach Command: Press and hold the corresponding function key on the source remote. The HTR 10’s Learn LED will flicker amber for a second or two, then turn solid Green, indicating the command is learned.
- Exit Learning Mode: Press the HTR 10’s DEVICE SELECTOR key again to exit the learning mode.
Troubleshooting
- If the Learn LED does not flicker Amber, vary the distance between the remotes.
- If the Learn LED turns Red instead of Green, the command from the source remote cannot be learned. In rare cases, some IR formats may be incompatible with the HTR 10.
Note: There are instances where the HTR 10 remote control cannot receive the IR command from the source or transmitting remote control. This may be due to a non-standard or corrupted IR signal from the sending remote. In such cases, the transmitting remote may still operate its original device, but it may be impossible for the NAD remote control to learn that command.
Example: Learning "BD Pause"
- Positioning: Position the HTR 10 and your Blu-ray player’s remote as described above.
- Enter Learning Mode: On the HTR 10, press and hold [EQ] and [AUX] simultaneously until the Learn LED turns steady Green.
- Select Function Key: Press the HTR 10’s Pause [⏸] key; the Learn LED turns Amber.
- Teach Command: Press and hold the corresponding Pause key on your Blu-ray player’s remote control; the HTR 10’s Learn LED flickers Amber and then turns solid Green, indicating the command is learned.
- Exit Learning Mode: Press [AUX] again to exit learning mode.
Additional Notes
- The HTR 10 can learn up to 220 commands using all DEVICE SELECTOR and function keys.
- DEVICE SELECTOR keys can be configured to learn a command.
- To execute a function assigned to a configured DEVICE SELECTOR key, press and hold the key for at least 2 seconds.
- A short press of a configured DEVICE SELECTOR will only switch the active device.
Cancel Learning Operation
To cancel configuring a key, press the active DEVICE SELECTOR key before the learning process is complete; the Learn LED will turn Red.
