How to use the AVR4 remote to operate the T758?

The AVR 4 remote control handset manages the key functions of the T758. It can also directly command other NAD products that use common remote control codes, including various NAD Stereo Receiver, Integrated Amplifier, and Preamplifier models.

Additionally, it features controls for NAD Blu-ray Disc Players, AM/FM Tuners, and dedicated AM/FM/DB Tuners.

The remote operates up to a distance of 23 feet (7 meters). For optimal performance, use alkaline batteries. Install two AA batteries in the compartment at the back of the remote. When replacing batteries, ensure they are correctly oriented as indicated in the battery compartment.

To initiate the following T 758 remote control commands, select AMP from the DEVICE SELECTOR buttons:

ON/OFF

 The AVR 4 remote has separate ON and OFF buttons. Press ON to switch the T 758 from Standby to operating mode. Press OFF to switch to Standby mode.
2 DEVICE SELECTOR

A Device Selector button determines which component the AVR 4 will command; it does not perform any function on the T 758. Press the desired Device Selector button to direct the applicable buttons to a “page” of commands relevant to the selected device. After selecting a Device, press the corresponding AVR 4 control buttons applicable to the selected Device.
3 INPUT SELECTORS

Refer to the labels printed on the remote control faceplate and their respective buttons to use these functions:

Set the DEVICE SELECTOR to "AMP" to access these buttons:

  • [1-INPUT 1] through [7-INPUT 7] correspond to T 758’s Source 1 through Source 7.
  • Select [8-FRONT] to choose the Front Input and [9-MP] for the Front Audio MP input.

NUMERIC KEYS

The numeric keys enable direct input of tracks for CD players and direct channel or preset access for tuners and receivers.

A/V PSET
[HOME-A/V PSET]

In combination with the numeric keys, press a preset number from 1 to 5 as specified in the A/V Presets settings. Note that these preset settings can be configured through the A/V Presets menu.

DIMMER
[0-DIMMER]
  • Adjust the front panel display (VFD) brightness.
  • The brightness of the front panel display will vary depending on the NAD model when you toggle this button.

(Compatible with the NAD T 758 and other NAD Stereo Receiver, Tuner, and CD Player models.)

TEST
[PICTURE-TEST]

Initiate Speaker Test mode from the Speaker Levels section in the Speaker Setup menu.

MUTE
  • Temporarily mute the audio output or restore it from mute mode.
  • MUTE mode is indicated by a flashing Standby LED indicator on NAD Integrated Amplifiers or "Mute" displayed on the Front panel display (VFD) of NAD Receivers.
  • Adjusting the volume level with the AVR 4 or the front panel volume knob will automatically deactivate the mute function.

Toggle to select the required Source.

SURR
[RES-SURR]

Select the desired listening or surround mode.

VOL ▲/▼

Adjust the loudness level by pressing and holding the button until the desired level is achieved.

  • The front panel's VFD will display the set level. For NAD Receivers, while pressing the AVR 4’s [VOL ▲/▼] buttons, the VFD will also indicate "Volume Up," "Volume Down," or "Volume: _ _ dB" (where _ _ indicates the numerical dB level).

SLEEP
[RTN-SLEEP]
SLEEP
Turn off the NAD Receiver or Tuner after a specified number of minutes.
 
SLEEP MODE
The Sleep Mode timer automatically switches the T 758 to Standby mode after a preset number of minutes.
  • Press the AVR 4’s [SLEEP] button once to view the current sleep time setting or the remaining time before standby mode activates.
  • Press the [SLEEP] button again within 3 seconds to adjust the sleep time setting to the next preset duration.
    Each subsequent press increases the sleep time by 15-minute increments, ranging from 15 to 90 minutes.
To disable sleep mode, continue pressing the [SLEEP] button until "Sleep Off" is displayed on the VFD.
Additionally, activating standby mode using either the AVR 4’s OFF button or the T 758’s Standby button will cancel the sleep mode.

EQ
[⏏-EQ]

 Enable or disable the Equalization (EQ) effect as configured during Auto Calibration.
*not applicable to the T 758 model

TONE
[⏹-TONE]

To adjust the Treble or Bass levels, toggle the [TONE] button and then use the [⯊/⯋] buttons to set your preferred values.

L.NITE
[⏸-L.NITE]

Set the Dynamic Range Control (DRC) level by toggling [L.NITE] to choose either the DTS or Dolby DRC setting, then use the [⯊/⯋] buttons to adjust the DRC level. 
*not applicable to the T 758 model
